Darchula, Nov. 9: Former Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa
Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the ruling coalition was formed to defeat
the regressive forces in the election.
Addressing
an election rally at Gokuleshwro in Darchula, Chair Prachanda blamed CPN (UML)
chairman KP Sharma Oli for taking a regressive path and that the ruling coalition
was for defeating such regressive elements by the election.
“When there
is election, KP Oli talks about nationalism and sheds tears like that of a crocodile.
It was not him who brought forth the new map of Nepal covering the Kalapani and
Lipulekh area, it was the then Nepal Communist Party, and I was one of the two
Chairmen of that party,” he said.
He ruled out the possibility of Oli becoming
the PM again as he had proposed for two times when Oli became PM. “I supported
him to become the PM, but now, no chance of that.”
“I got a
bit illusioned after KP Oli singed the new constitution because he had been
opposing Constituent Assembly and declaring that there could be no republican setup
in Nepal. I proposed party unity believing that would ensure political
stability in Nepal. And then he became the PM. But, when Oli got power, I
understood his true intent. He was waiting for tearing down the constitution and
reversing the rights of the oppressed caste, class and communities,” he said.
The Maoist Center Chair remarked that the way UML Chair Oli as the PM dissolved the parliament for two times made it clear that he has not backtracked from his ‘cart-based theory’ (referring to Oli’s saying that no one can reach America by riding on a bull-driven cart during the People’s Movement II in 2006, by which Oli meant that republic was impossible).
