Lumbini, Nov. 9: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has said that continuous discussions were being held between the government and Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN to engage them in peaceful politics. He informed that the government and the team had a bilateral talk to bring them into the political mainstream.
Minister Khand informed that the discussion held with CPN spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma two days ago in Bhairahawa turned out to be very positive. At a programme organised on Tuesday in Karaijiya of Tilotama, Rupandehi, Minister Khand said that the issues such as the process of releasing the inmates in jail and the withdrawal of the cases were discussed in the bilateral talk.
According to the agreement made by the previous government, some of the inmates were already released and the file was sent to the Ministry of Law to amend the law and release some other inmates, he added.
Minister Khand said that the coordinator of CPN dialogue team Bishwokarma had informed to put forth a proposal at the party’s ongoing meeting in Kathmandu and further discuss and negotiate with the government.
He said that he had proposed to give opportunity to the CPN leaders and cadres to vote like other citizens if they wanted to participate in the election. “If they come to peaceful voting, the administration will not arrest them,” he said. “But the government will not remain silent if they try to disrupt the voting process and terrorize other voters.”
