Kathmandu, Oct 13: As soon as the Dashain festival came to an end, Right after Dashain, farmers have been hustling in the paddy field for harvesting.
The hustle intensify soon after the Dashain festival as they could not harvest paddy in time due to delays in the monsoon. Now, the paddy is being eaten by rats and leaning in the field as monsoon hardly getting mild.
Famers of Imadol which is located in Lalitpur were seen busy in paddy field on Thursday.
They were busy in reaping, stacking, threshing and hauling paddy.
According to Shrimaya Maharjan, productivity of paddy production going down in comparison to past.
The production would ranges from between 12 to 15 (1 Muri= approximately 80 kg Paddy) in the past in the very same field, now it ranges between 9 to 10 Muri.
He remember, the fields which used to cover by paddy in the past have now been congested by concrete buildings.
