Nepalgunj, Aug 22 : Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Mohammad Ishtiaq Rayi has said that the development of roads and transport is a must for prosperity and progress.
He said that once the roads and transportation facilities reach any place, all other developments would gradually reach there.
Laying the foundation stone for a road to be built from Jamunaha to Piprahawa at Nepalgunj 15, Minister Rayi said that the main goal of the government was to provide facilities of roads and transport services in all villages.
Stating that roads and transport lead to all other developments including electricity, he said that for this reason, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport was working to connect all remote and backward areas of the country with roads and transportation services.
Minister Rayi said that if good schools for education and good hospitals for health treatment are established and infrastructures for electricity and roads are developed in villages, the villages will gradually turn into cities.
Ujjwal Shrestha of the Road Improvement and Development Project (RIDP) Directorate under the Department of Roads said that the road would be constructed under the RIDP and the construction work of the road would begin soon and be complete in time.
Earlier, Minister Rayi also laid the foundation stone of a new bridge to be built over the Rapti River at Sidhaniyaghat.
