By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 11: The ruling alliance
has decided to prepare a framework on ways to share seats in the election of
the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Provincial Assembly
(PA) slated for November 20.
The meeting of the taskforce of the ruling parties formed
to allocate constituencies among them held today at Baluwatar, the Prime
Minister's official residence, made an agreement to this effect.
Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, Minister for Communication and
Information Technology, who is also a member of the taskforce, informed that
the discussion on the issue of seat sharing was positive today.
"The discussion has moved forward in a positively
way with regard to the responsibility entrusted with the taskforce. We are
optimistic that we will reach the conclusion on seat sharing within a few
days," said Minister Karki after the meeting.
He said the meeting was inching closer to readying
framework for the agreement on seat allocation.
A leader of the CPN (Maoist Center) who is also a member
of the taskforce, Dev Prasad Gurung, shared that the five ruling parties have made
an agreement in principle to coordinate among themselves in the upcoming election.
"We have had a positive discussion on preparing
modality for agreement," said leader Gurung.
