Wasp bites man to death

Rukum (West), Aug 9 : A man in Rukum (West) has died after being bitten by an adult wasp. 

The deceased has been identified as Subarna Sunar, 38, of Tribeni Rural Municipality-1.  He had been working as a tax collector in the municipality’s office in Jhulneta. 

Chief Administrative Officer of Tribeni Rural Municipality Prem Bahadur Gharti said that Sunar, who was bitten by a wasp three days ago, died while undergoing treatment in Nepalgunj on Sunday. 

According to him, Sunar was bitten by the wasp when he went with his friends to harvest wasps in Bamfukhola, Salyan.

He was being treated at a private health institution in Jhulneta for three days after being bitten and was referred to Nepalgunj after his health condition worsened. 

There were more than 50 bite wounds on his body.

Sun, who was the secretary of Village Sports Development Committee Tribeni, was one of the best volleyball players and referees in the district.
