Tanahun gets first female administrative officer

Tanahun, Aug 5 : For the first time, a woman has held the position of administrative officer in the District Administrative Office (DAO), Tanahun. 

The DAO welcomed its first female administrative officer recently.

The Ministry of Home Affairs recently gave the responsibility to Harita Shrestha.

The 37-year-old Shrestha was born in Suklagandaki, Tanahun, and got married to a man from Ilam.

She has completed her graduation in English.

This is her first experience working as an administrative officer.

Prior to this, Shrestha was working as an assistant at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, Kathmandu, and recently got selected as a section officer.

Shrestha said she is delighted to work in her home district.

The locals of Tanahun are delighted to have their first female administrative officer in the DAO.

Talking to Rising Nepal, Shrestha said, “Even though the office is always crowded with service seekers, I feel delighted to serve people from my own district.”

According to Shrestha, daily around 80 people visit the office to get their citizenship issued and around 150 people to get their passports.

Applauding Shrestha’s work, Assistant Chief District Officer Kashiram Gaire said that her service delivery is no less than that of other administrative officers.
