By Our Correspondent Humla, Aug 1 : Limi, a village in Ward No. 6 of Namkha Rural Municipality in Humla district, has finally received 1,100 sacks of foodgrains stuck in Hilsa for the past nine months. During mid-November last year, road to Limi from Hilsa had been obstructed by heavy snowfall. As the obstruction was difficult to be removed, a warehouse was constructed in Hilsa and the foodgrains were stored. "The foodgrains have been brought to Limi by five trucks. The transportation cost has been paid by the ward office," said Paljor Tamang, Ward No. 6 chairman.

The foodgrains were provided by the Chinese government for Namkha Rural Municipality. They, however, got stuck in Hilsa.  Locals of Limi had faced food shortage during the road obstruction and some sacks of foodgrains, from the support provided by China, were airlifted to Limi by helicopter at government initiative. There are 212 houses in Limi and the locals cannot produce sufficient food crops in the Himalayan region.

According to local representatives, the transported foodgrains will be distributed equally among the households.
