Air services halted in Karnali

By Our Correspondent Humla,Aug1 : Air services have been halted in the Himalayan districts of Karnali, including Humla, due to bad weather since Friday night. Although the flights were prepared to take off from Nepalgunj in the early morning, no flight has been made for two days.  Civil Aviation Authority Simkot Branch acting chief Chetraj Bhatta informed that there was no flight on Saturday and Sunday due to continuous rain. 

The branch said that the air service could not resume due to bad weather, informing that flight service could not operate on Thursday and only one flight of Sita Air took off on Friday after 2 pm. 

The passengers coming from Nepalgunj have been in trouble. Due to the non-resumption of air services, the Nepalgunj airport has been crowded with passengers arriving from Simkot and other places on Saturday and Sunday. Tara, Summit and Nepal Airlines have not been able to take any flight for four days. Similarly, the Nepalganj office of the Authority has informed that no flight has been made to Jufal of Dolpa in Karnali, Talcha of Mugu, Kolti of Jumla and Bajura for the past two days.
