Kathmandu, July 5 : Nine people died and 23 others were injured in a bus accident that occurred in Ramechhap district today.
Of the dead, four are females and five are
males but their identities are yet to be ascertained. The passenger bus (Ba 3
Kha 8396) heading towards Kathmandu from Ramechhap met with the accident along
the border of Sunapati rural municipality-5 and the Khandadevi municipality-1.
According to Ramechhap's chief district officer Deepak Kumar Pahadi, nine people have been confirmed dead in the accident.
As he briefed the RSS, the accident
reportedly took place at 10:30 am. Three persons with serious injuries were
airlifted to Kathmandu while the remaining others were transported to the Dhulikhel
Hospital in Kavrepalanchowk for treatment. It is said the bus fell some 30-35
meters down the road.
The cause of the accident is yet to
be established and a police squad has been mobilized to undertake rescue
efforts. (RSS)
