Kalikot, Achham local levels unveil budget

By Our Correspondents Kalikot/Achham, June 28: All nine local levels of Kalikot district have unveiled budget for upcoming fiscal year. The total amount of budget of all nine municipalities is Rs. 4,223,196,288. Tilgufa Municipality has brought the biggest amount of budget in the district.

Tilagufa Municipality presented its popular budget, plan and program in the 11th executive meeting of the municipality. Deputy-mayor Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, made the popular budget, plans and programmes public. A total budget of Rs. 619,064,526 was presented which has given priority to education, health, agriculture, tourism, road, youth employment and entrepreneurship.

Likewise, Khandachakra Municipality presented a budget of Rs. 606,393,693 which has given priority to education, agriculture and infrastructure development.

Similarly, Narharinath Rural Municipality presented a budget of Rs. 558,110,000. Mayor Nagendra Bahadur Bista said that they have tried to include all sectors even though the budget is small.

Similarly, Raskot Municipality presented a budget of Rs. 495,656,000, Palata Rural Municipality presented 

Rs. 416,554,000, Sannitriveni Rural Municipality presented Rs. 404,000,000, Pachal Jharana Rural Municipality presented Rs. 429,047,693 , Mahawai Rural Municipality presented 

Rs. 294,436,640, Suvakalika Rural Municipality presented Rs. 401,756,000 worth of budget. Meanwhile, Nine local levels of Achham district, except for Panchadewal Binayak Municipality, have brought budget with their policies and programmes.

As per the constitutional provision, three municipalities and six rural municipalities have unveiled budget for the coming fiscal year 2079/80.

Mangalsen Municipality has tabled a budget of Rs. 608.29 million for the coming fiscal year while Kamalbazar Municipality has unveiled a budget of Rs. 466.12 million for the period.

The budget of Safebagar Municipality is Rs. 692.76 million and Chaurpati Rural Municipality is Rs. 453.72 million.

Bannigadhi Jayagarh Rural Municipality has come up with Rs. 352.09 million budget while Dhakari Municipality has brought a budget of Rs. 393.36 million for the period.

The Turmakhand Municipality has an estimated budget of 506.982 million, Mellekh Rural Municipality 

has brought a budget of Rs. 446.967 million. 

According to Ram Bahadur Bhandari, Chief Administrative Officer of Ramaroshan Municipality, the municipality is preparing to present a budget of Rs. 510 million by passing policies and programmes.

Panchadewal Binayak Municipality has not been able to bring the policies, programmes and budget within the given time due to the complaint filed against the mayor of the municipality.

The local levels have given priority to infrastructure, education, health, drinking water, agriculture, good governance, employment and judicial work in the budget. 

Similarly, budget has also been allocated for grants, disaster management, women, children and senior citizens and office management.
