Kathmandu, June 21 (RSS): Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand has stressed the need for government employees to practice yoga and meditation for increasing their contribution to establishing peace and good governance in the country.

Doing yoga regularly would inject energy and encourage security personnel to help maintain peace and good governance, said the minister while addressing an event organised here today at the headquarters of the Armed Police Force (APF) by the APF in collaboration with the Art of Living on the occasion of the eighth International Day of Yoga.

Yoga would help make lives easier in the context when people’s lives are busier with the fast development of science and technology, he said.

Others present on the occasion were Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, Inspector General, APF, Raju Aryal, Additional Inspector General, APF, Narayan Datta Paudel and Chandra Prakash Gautam and central president of the APF Family Women’s Association Anita Aryal. This year’s theme for the Day is ‘Yoga for Humanity’.
