By TRN Online, Kathmandu, June 9: Giriraj Mani Pokharel,
former Minister and a lawmaker from the CPN (Maoist Center), has demanded that
the government inform the parliament about the objectives and agenda of the
military visits between the USA and Nepal.
The Maoist lawmaker made the demand in the context that Charles
A. Flynn, a United States Army general who serves as commanding general of the United States Army Pacific, is expected to arrive in Nepal today for a four-day
visit.
Lawmaker Pokharel said so while participating in the discussion in the House of Representatives over budget head related to the ministries on Thursday.
Referring to the possible agreement on the program on the
State Partnership between the Nepali Army and the US Army, former minister
Pokharel asked the "What this partnership means?".
He asked the
response from the government whether Nepal was being connected to the military
and strategic programmes in the name of state partnership.
