Vegetable worth Rs. 190 million supplied from Lalbandi

By Our Correspondent Sarlahi, June 2: Vegetables worth Rs.190 million have been supplied in a month from Lalbandi Bazaar in Sarlahi. 

According to the Lalbandi Agriculture Wholesale Market Management Committee, vegetables, mostly tomatoes, worth Rs. 189,940,630 were supplied during the period. 

Shambhu Prasad Ghimire, manager of the Agriculture Wholesale  Market, said that tomatoes worth Rs. 94,743,000 were supplied from the market.  The vegetables exported most after tomatoes were long beans, worth Rs. 9,479,000.

Chairman of the Agriculture Management Committee Lalbandi and trader Toran Bahadur Magar informed us that vegetables like chili, eggplant, bitter gourd, beans, and sponge gourd were also exported along with tomatoes and long beans. The vegetables sold by the farmers in Lalbandi market are being exported to major cities in the country, 

including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Malangwa, Chapur, Birgunj, Janakpur, and Sindhuli.

Farmers from various municipalities, including Lalbandi, Hariwan, Ishwarpur, Chandranagar, Haripur, Kabilasi, Bardibas, and Gaushala  municipality, have been bringing  vegetables to the Lalbandi market for sale. Many farmers in the area have been making a living by selling seasonal vegetables.
