‘Walking cooler’ installed to improve vaccines storage capacity

Baglung, May 5 (RSS) :  ‘Walking Cooler’ has been installed at the district health office to increase vaccines storage capacity. Director of Gandaki Province Health Directorate Khm Bahadur Khadka inaugurated the cooler amidst a programme on Wednesday, The cooler which was built with the financial assistance of Ministry of Health and Population has 10 refrigerators.    

It may be noted that the supply and distribution of anti-COVID-19 vaccination was a big challenge due to low capacity for storing vaccines. The added capacity would be enough to store the vaccines required for Baglung, Parbat, Myagdi and Mustang districts, Director Khadka added. “It would help make the vaccination service effective”, he said.    

With this four walking coolers have come into operations in Gandaki province, Khadka informed. Vaccines required for five million population can be stored.
