Press freedom pillar of democracy: Speaker Sapkota
Kathmandu, May 3 (RSS) : Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has
said free press is the pillar of democracy. Giving a message of best wishes on
the occasion of the World Press Freedom Day today, Speaker Sapkota argued that
press had played significant role to prosper democratic values.
"I appreciate the role of free
press. I hope Nepali media will continuously work for the exercise of rights
enshrined by the constitution," Speaker Sapkota said, adding that he would
stand firm for free press and speech on behalf of the leadership of federal
parliament.
