By Awainash Chaudhary, Kailali, April 24: A fire broke out at the freed-bounded labourer (Mukta Kamaiya) camps in Kailari Village Municipality -7 of Kailali district.
Ward Chairperson Kamal Prasad Chaudhary informed that the fire broke out in the wheat stubble in the labourer settlement.
According to him, most of the 73 houses have been destroyed by fire. The fire damaged the thatched and tin-roofed settlement.
According to Chairman Chaudhary, the fire destroyed crops as well as livestock including cattle. According to him, the fire has been extinguished with the help of the fire brigade of Dhangadhi Sub-metropolis, Tikapur Municipality and Gauriganga Municipality.

Chief of the District Police Office, Kailali, Somendra Singh Rathore informed that the fire was brought under control in the afternoon. Details of the damage caused by the fire have not been released yet. He said that initial reports have been received that 50 to 60 houses were destroyed by fire.
"We have not been able to collect the details of the burnt houses due to the smoke," he said. "We have been informed that 50 to 60 houses have been destroyed by fire."
