U.S. Congressional Delegation Arriving Nepal today

Kathmandu, April 22: A United States high-ranking Congressional delegation will arrive in Kathmandu today for an official visit as a part of the ongoing bilateral partnership between Nepal and the United States of America.

According to US Embassy, the delegation team led by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (New York) includes Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (Rhode Island), Cory Booker (New Jersey), Mark Kelly (Arizona), and Representative Mondaire Jones (17th Congressional District, New York) will reach Kathmandu on Friday. 

The delegation will meet with Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and other government officials and political leaders to discuss various issues. This week celebrates the 75th anniversary of U.S. – Nepal diplomatic relations.

The group of lawmakers will also focus on climate change’s effects in the Himalayan region. They have a plan on partaking in a hike Saturday afternoon to learn more about this urgent crisis.
