By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 21: The Election Commission (EC)
today established the office of the election officer in all 753 local levels
officially.
The office of the chief election officer has been established in
77 local levels where the district headquarters are located while in the other
remaining 676 local levels, the office of the election officer has been
established in the office of the concerned local level.
EC spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Paudel said at a regular press
meet that the EC has started sending election-related materials to the
districts.
Spokesperson Paudel also said that the EC has decided to allow
44 national non-governmental organization for conducting observation of the local
election slated for May 13.
Over 10,000 observers will reach polling booths to observe the
election so as to make it free, fair, and impartial.
Similarly, the EC has got 11.9 million ballot papers printed so
far. The number of printed ballot papers suffices the demand for 53 districts.
