By Our Correspondent, Nawalpur, Apr. 16: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has argued that the defeat of the Maoist party in the election would be the defeat of the country.

The former Prime Minister said that the Maoist party would fulfill its responsibility if the people entrust the party with such a mandate.

Addressing an orientation programme at Daldale here, the Maoist Center Chairman said the Maoist party has fought for progressive changes for the people in the country.

He urged his party cadres to visit the people on the doorstep in villages and make the people aware of the importance of safeguarding the constitution at this time when some forces are trying to reverse the changes and turn the constitution upside down.

"This election is a battle for us. If we win, the nation will win and the vice versa," he said, "If the Maoist Center loses the election, it will be like the loss of the republican set up, which in turn will be the loss on part of the oppressed women, dalit, indigenous nationalities, persons living with a disability."

He said the Maoist Center made a lot of efforts and sacrifices to bring in the constitution and institutionalise the federal democratic republic, inclusivity and proportional representation.
