He said so while accepting a memorandum submitted by a team including Bhakta Bishwakarma, Chairman of the Nepal Voter Rights Forum, at his residence in Budhanilkantha today, regarding amendments to the draft of the 'Bill to Amend and Consolidate Laws Related to Elections'. President Deuba opined that proportional representation is necessary within direct elections because it directly connects with the people.

Parbat, July 20: The body of a man missing along with his wife after a landslide buried their house in Langdi, Deurali of Modi Rural Municipality-3 has been recovered. Chhabilal Bishwakarma, 78, and his wife Bishnumati, 76, had gone missing after their one-storey house was buried in the incident that took place last night. The couple's daughter-in-law, Pabitra, 32, managed to escape the landslide by jumping out of the house. The body of Bishwakarma was found buried by locals and security personnel, said Rabin Bista, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office. The search for Bishnumati is underway.
