CPN (UML) chair KP Sharma Oli, said that the current election has shown that there is an attraction to politics among youth. While visiting his homeland Damak to celebrate his win from Jhapa-5, chair Oli said that there is an attraction to politics among youth rather than disdain, which is clearly shown by the recent election.
Gokul Prasad Banskota of the CPN (UML) has been elected to the member of the House of Representatives from Kavrepalanchowk constituency-2. Banskota defeated his closest rival Shiva Prasad Humagain of the Nepali Congress by 5,863 votes. According to the Chief Election Office, Banskota garnered 45,345 votes while Humagain got 39,482 votes.
