12 candidates of Kavrepalanchowk district have received less than 100 votes in the Nov. 20 elections for the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA).
The Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis has launched a campaign against the pavement encroachment in the town. According to Mayor Prashant Bista, structures that encroach on the pavement and sewage system along the roadway would be removed.
The counting of votes of the election to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly held on November 20 has become uncertain in Bajura. CPN (UML) vice-chairman Subas Chandra Nembang has been elected the Member of the House of Representatives from Ilam electoral constituency number 2. According to the District Election Office, leader Nembang won the HoR election by securing 30,020 votes and his closest contender Nepali Congress' Dambar Bahadur Khadka obtained 29,905 votes.
Laxmi Mahato of the CPN (UML) has been elected the Member of the House of Representatives from Mahottari electoral constituency no 1. As per the vote counting results concluded this morning, Mahato defeated his closest competitor Giriraj Mani Pokharel of the CPN (Maoist Centre) by 1,031 votes. The Office of the Election Officer, Mahottari said Mahato secured 24,401 votes and Pokharel 23,370.
The government is short of almost Rs 37 billion which has been allocated for the projects and programmes in the country’s annual budget, and to be doled out by receiving foreign loans and grants.

Mangal Bahadur Shahi of CPN (Maoist Centre) has won the election to a member of the Province Assembly from Mugu (B). He defeated his closest rival CPN (UML)'s Karna Bahadur Malla. Shahi obtained 8,429 votes while Malla got 4,884 votes.
