Independent candidate Gopal Hamal has been elected as the Mayor of Dhangadhi sub-metropolis. He won with 26,865 votes while the common candidate of ruling alliance Nrip Bahadur Oda of the Nepali Congress got received 14,817 votes.

11 fresh cases, 12 recoveries in 24 hours
Kathmandu, May 21: With 11 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on Saturday, the nation's novel coronavirus tally has reached 979,062.In 1,819 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 11 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its regular update on Saturday.Likewise, the virus infection was detected in zero people in 1,211 antigen tests performed in the last 24 hours.Currently, there are 148 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, no patients are admitted to institutional isolation while 148 patients are placed in home isolation.Meanwhile, 12 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 966,962 cases of recovery, and the recovery rate is at 98.8 per cent.No fatality related to COVID-19 was recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the MoHP. So far, Nepals' COVID-19 death toll has reached 11,952.
