By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 22: Three Nepali films, ‘Taraharu,’ ‘Magne Raja,’ and ‘Janai Harayeko Manchhe,’ are set to be released in cinema theatres across the country on Friday.

‘Taraharu’ and ‘Janai Harayeko Manchhe’ held their premieres in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

After watching ‘Taraharu,’ actor Karma Shakya praised director Aashant Sharma for his work, saying the story deeply touched him.

Loonibha Tuladhar said that the story of ordinary people had been powerfully portrayed on screen in Taraharu.

Likewise, actress Hena Nagarkoti said that she felt inspired to play one of the characters after watching the film.

“These days, only big-budget and heavily promoted films get attention. But sometimes, true art is found in simple yet profound creations that truly touch the audience’s heart,” she said.

Director Sharma said that this time he had brought a stage play to the big screen. He further added that the play ‘Sathi, Sathi Aaideu Na’ had inspired him, and its theme influenced him to recreate it as a film.

Exploring adolescent psychology, ‘Taraharu’ tells the story of a young man on the verge of suicide who, with the support of his friends, learns how to embrace life again.

Alongside Sharma, the cast includes Menuka Pradhan, Kundun Shakya, Meera Khadka, Prabhakar Neupane, Abhash Adhikari, Raj Pangeni Sharma, Pramod Babu, and Bikash Khanal, among others. Likewise, the premiere of ‘Janai Harayeko Manchhe’ was attended by artistes, social activists, journalists, and others, and it also received positive responses.

The film portrays the importance of relationships, the struggle to fulfil dreams, and family values in a poignant way, which the audience has appreciated as emotionally powerful.

Directed by Himal Neupane, the film features Bijay Baral, Keki Adhikari, Miruna Magar, Gaurab Pahadi, and others. This marks Bijay Baral’s first lead role of the year, following his all-time blockbuster of last year ‘Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi.’

Meanwhile, ‘Magne Raja,’ a comedy film directed by Rishi Lamichhane, will also be screened simultaneously with the other two Nepali films.

Kedar Prasad Ghimire plays the titular role of Magne Raja, while actress Barsha Siwakoti stars opposite him. According to the film unit, along with its domestic release, the film will also be premiered in 25 theatres in Australia.
