blog

By Our Correspondent,Kaski, Aug. 16: The team of the Indian film ‘Million Views’ met with journalists in Pokhara on Thursday.

The film is set to release in Nepal on September 12, in all theatres across the country. At the press meet held in Pokhara, Kedar Parajuli, the operator and distributor of Shree Krishna Hall, said that 'Million Views' is a film based on a social story.

He believes the story is powerful and will appeal to the Nepali audience.

He added that he watched the film in India, liked the story, and decided to prepare for its release in Nepal.

The film’s worldwide distributor, Vikas Kumar Singh Rajput, said the film is a psychological thriller.

Based on the dark depths of the black web, 'Million Views' portrays the life and death struggles of a 25-year-old woman with strong willpower and self-respect.

He said, “Million Views effectively highlights the issue of a young woman’s self-respect."

The story involves a harsh ultimatum of achieving 1 million views in 90 minutes or losing a friend’s life, which is linked in the film to the woman’s determination to protect her self-respect, he said. The thriller, set against the background of the black web and digital crimes, explores human endurance, the value of personal dignity, and the dark truths hidden in the online world.

According to distributor Vikas Kumar Singh, the film was made for Rs. 12 million and is planned to be released in over 100 theatres in Nepal.

A special show is also planned in Kathmandu. The film is under the censor process and will be shown in both multiplexes and single-screen theatres, as informed in the programme.

The main role in the film is played by theatre actor Siddhi Jeswal. The film is written, directed, and produced by Anshul Sinha, with cinematography by Krishna Goli.
