Mongolian Heart to tour New Zealand

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 28: The popular and renowned Nepali band Mongolian Heart is embarking on its first-ever tour to New Zealand.

  Established in 1992, the band will perform live for its fans as part of a special 2025 tour in three major New Zealand cities, Christchurch, Auckland, and Tauranga.

Issuing a press statement, the band expressed its excitement about touring New Zealand for the first time.

 Guitarist and band manager Bobby Lama said that they are making grand preparations to make the tour a memorable one. “We are planning to entertain the audience with a mix of new and old songs. It is the love of our audience that has brought us to the international stage,” Lama said.

The eight-member team of Mongolian Heart will depart from Kathmandu for New Zealand on July 29. The tour is being organised by the local event company Sambandh Events.

During the musical journey, the band will perform their songs, aiming to create a cultural festival-like atmosphere that brings together the Nepali community in New Zealand.

The band is scheduled to return to Nepal on August 15, after which they will head to Mizoram, Northeast India, for another performance on August 20.

Led by vocalist Raju Lama, the band consists of Bobby Lama on rhythm guitar, Bhupendra Bajracharya on lead guitar, Santosh Thapa on drums, Binay Maharjan on flute, Baburaja Maharjan on percussion, Pawan Kapali on bass guitar, and Nirendra Ranjit as sound engineer.

‘Baandalpariko Deshbaata,’  ‘Mero Nepal,’  ‘Sumnima,’ 

‘Ma Maya Laudina,’  ‘Halla Chalechha,’  ‘Timilai Dekhera,’ ‘Parkhaima,’  ‘Sayad Timro Baatoma,’ ‘Ubo Ubo Khasa,’ and ‘Sailunge Mela.’
