Nhyoo Bajracharya sings in Paleti

By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, July 28: Musician Nhyoo Bajracharya held audience spellbound during Paleti on Friday. The musical programme featured over a dozen songs composed by Bajracharya.

The event began with Nhyoo himself on stage, singing while playing the guitar. He shared personal anecdotes from his musical journey as he introduced each song.

He performed songs like ‘Na Aaunu Sapanabhari’ and ‘Aghi Aghi Jindagi.’ The third performance was the poetic song ‘Euti Sani Pari,’ written by poet Viplav Pratik, who also hosted the evening. Another song he performed was ‘Adhibato Hidepachhi’ written by Raman Ghimire.

In the second segment, singer Banika Pradhan took the stage. She skillfully performed ‘Yo Man Ta Talaau Ho,’ originally sung by Aruna Lama and written by Rajendra Thapa. She followed with several other songs, including ‘Timi Bahek,’  ‘Khata Basechha,’  ‘Ae Aina,’ and ‘Chhayechha Basanta.’ 

These songs featured lyrics by various renowned writers such as Durga Lal Shrestha, Basanta Chaudhary, Manju Lama, Bhushan Kharel, Gopal Pyakurel, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Kshetrapratap Adhikari, and Suresh Sthapit all set to Nhyoo’s music. Some of the lyrics were also written by Nhyoo himself.

In the final segment of the show, Nhyoo returned to perform several songs with full instrumental accompaniment. These included ‘Mero Pyaro, Paagal,’ ‘Arbaun Mancheharu Ma,’ and ‘Jai Hos.’

 He also sang ‘Phoolko Aankhama,’ a song made popular by Ani Choying, blending both Nepali and Newar languages in his rendition.

The instrumental team for this edition of Paleti included Dinesh Regmi on keyboard, Shambhu Baniya on tabla, Milan Ghimire on flute, Parashmani Subedi on percussion, Luman Sthapit on guitar, and Sudip Khatri on bass guitar.

Paleti coordinator Abhas announced that the upcoming August edition will feature musician and singer Ramkrishna Duwal.
