By Netra Shahi,Jumla, July 28: Tanka Nepali, a local of Aireni, Tatopani Rural Municipality-5 in Jumla, has built a large model of an aircraft on the rooftop of his house.
Nepali himself built the aircraft of Nepal Airlines, the national flag carrier, using his own skills and craftsmanship.
He shared that he has built the attractive aircraft model on the roof of his house, which is located near the Karnali Highway.
After he built the model of the aircraft on top of his house, the locals have expressed happiness.
Locally known by the nickname “scientist,” Nepali used cement, rods, polish, paint, iron, and various other materials to construct the model of the Nepal Airlines aircraft, showcasing his art.
He has also established a shop for electrical and electronic goods on the ground floor of his house.
To exhibit his skill, he built a large sculpture of an aircraft measuring 18 feet in length and three feet in diameter on the rooftop.
Nepali was supported by his nephew Dhan Bahadur Nepali to construct the aircraft.
Nepali shared that nearly Rs.100,000 has been spent over the past two and a half months to build the model.
He mentioned that some parts of the aircraft are still under construction. Locals are thrilled by Nepali’s artistic creation.
Chairperson of Tatopani Rural Municipality, Nanda Prasad Chaulagain said that the municipality has been promoting Nepali’s artwork and is ready to assist further if needed.
Nirajan Gautam, a local of Tila Rural Municipality-4, said that if the government recognises Nepali’s s talent and craftsmanship, it could support advancements in the field of science.
He shared that he was amazed to see the aircraft on the rooftop while traveling along the highway.
Nepali is not done yet. He has claimed that he has started building an actual flying aircraft. He says, “I am building the aircraft with the mindset that it can actually fly.”
Nepali, who previously built and flew a paraglider by himself, now has taken an oath to build and fly an aircraft.
Nepali is also engaged in preparing various electronic projects.
He had previously built a paraglider by watching YouTube videos and now, inspired by videos of real scientists, has started constructing a flying aircraft, he added.
