By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, July 24:Popular comedian Shiv Shankar Rijal, widely known as ‘Jogindar Panwala’, releases satirical comedy content every year targeting the festival of Gaijatra.
This year, he has come up with a Gaijatra comedy ‘Mission Nautanki,’ in which he has thrown sharp satires at political leaders.
In ‘Mission Nautanki’, Rijal addresses issues of national concern and anomalies such as corruption and the misconduct of politicians. He has also satirised the much-discussed political catchphrase ‘Miss 84’ by presenting it as a part of this theatrical farce. The video has been released through OSR Digital.
Rijal said that ‘Mission Nautanki’ aims to entertain the audience purely through humour and satire by mocking the actions of politicians and the various distortions and anomalies in society.
Like every year, this time too, his Gaijatra special includes parody songs. He has parodied the hit song ‘Laideu Maya Pirim’ from the popular film ‘Jatrai Jatra,’ addressing topics like Rabi Lamichhane’s jail time, corrupt political actions, embezzlement, and looting.
Since 2004, Rijal has consistently produced Gaijatra comedy specials, and ‘Mission Nautanki’ marks his 22nd edition. Last year, he released ‘Luchhachudi’.
Apart from Rijal, ‘Mission Nautanki’ features performances by Radhika Hamal, Prem Sharma Paudel, Sabitra Lamichhane ‘Sabu’, Dhirendra Singh, Kiran Khanal, Bedmani Adhikari, Balram Dhamala ‘Thule Dai’, Sabina BK, Bhim Pariyar, and child artist Posna Shrestha. Rijal himself has written, presented, and directed the piece.
Describing Gaijatra as a grand celebration for comedians, Rijal said he has once again brought a ‘Gaijatra.’ “Just like every year, I trust that the audience will continue to shower love on my work this year as well,” he added. Rijal is currently preparing for the Gaijatra show to be staged at the Rastriya Nachghar.
