Public suffers in demonstration staged by two groups

Kathmandu, Mar.28: The transportation system in the Kathmandu Valley has been affected on Friday due to separate demonstrations planned today by the pro-republican group supporting republicanism and the royalist group supporting monarchy. 

Both sides have intensified preparations for the demonstration. 

In response, authorities have intensified security measures across the Valley, assigning designated areas for the protests to maintain order and public safety.

The road leading from Tripureshwor to Ratna Park has been closed since morning, while police have strengthened security at other places for the safety of citizens.

Both sides are moving ahead with preparations for the movement. 

The Samajwadi Front has claimed that more than 100,000 people will take part in today's demonstration. 

Both sides of demonstrators have taken today’s movement as a show of strength for both sides. 

The pro-republican protest is being organized by the Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, Nepal Socialist Party, and CPN Biplav factions under the Socialist Front alliance.

Conversely, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) and medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai are leading a separate movement titled ‘Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture, and Citizen Protection Mahaabhiyan,’ advocating for the reinstatement of a Hindu state with a ceremonial monarchy.
