blog

BY OUR CORRESPONDENT,Inaruwa, Mar. 25: The General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Thapa, has stated that the recent political developments, including the alliance with the CPN-UML, had evolved out of the country's necessity.

While addressing the orientation and training programme organised by the Nepali Congress Provincial Training Department in Inaruwa,

Sunsari on Monday, he said that the alliance with CPN-UML was formed for the country's development and progress. He said that there was no possibility of a government under the leadership of Congress at the moment, but the country required the involvement of major parties, which led to the alliance.

Thapa emphasised that the country is currently advancing on the path of development.

He highlighted the progress being made in various sectors, including health, education, roads, agriculture, irrigation, social, economic and physical infrastructure.

He stated, "Since 1989, significant development has taken place in the country, including in health, education, roads, agriculture, irrigation, social, economic and physical infrastructure.

Instead of saying nothing has been achieved, it is important to recognise that development is gaining momentum."

Discussing the achievements under the leadership of Congress after the establishment of democracy, he pointed out the creation of opportunities across all sectors, including the establishment of industries, creation of domestic employment and the need for a dignified and organised approach to foreign employment.

Thapa said that no one should convey a message to the youth that there has been no development in the country. He stressed that everyone should collaborate and coordinate to create self-employment opportunities for the youth and reduce the rate of foreign migration.

He added, "We spend a lot of time on social media. No one should spread the message that there has been no development in the country; let’s analyse the past and present situation and evaluate for ourselves whether the country has developed along with positive changes."
