Geneva (Switzerland), Feb 24: A bilateral meeting was held between Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, and Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, in Geneva today.
They met on the sidelines of the 58th session of United Nations Human Rights Council, according to Secretariat of Foreign Minister Deuba.
During the meeting, they discussed the various matters of bilateral welfare and mutual interest. On the occasion, Foreign Minister Deuba thanked Azerbaijan for successfully conducting the UN climate change Conference (COP29).
She shared that Nepal and Azerbaijan, as the members of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and Group of 77 (G77) have been raising common problems of developing countries in international forums.
Lauding the commitments of Azerbaijan in the area of climate change, the Foreign Minister opined that both the countries would raise common voices in international forums about the impacts of climate change in developing countries in coming days.
Minister Deuba invited Azerbaijan for its participation in Sagarmatha Sambat going to be hosted by Nepal in coming May.(RSS)
