HoR MPs draw govt's attention on various issues, Lamsal's death at KIIT

Kathmandu, Feb 18: Parliamentarians have drawn the government's attention to start diplomatic and political initiatives immediately to ensure security for Nepali students studying in India.

During an 'emergency time' of Tuesday's meeting of the House of Representatives, they urged the government to coordinate with the Indian government to investigate the death of Prakriti Lamsal of Butwal, studying at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Odisha state in India and for the security of other students studying there.     

Lawmakers—Chhabi Lal Bishwokarma, Madhav Sapkota, Dhurba Bahadur Pradhan and Thakur Gaire demanded to investigation into the mysterious death of Lamsal, action against guilty and guarantee of security to Nepali students studying at KIIT.     

Similarly, Prabhu Sah drew the government's attention to managing safe transport and movement of people, drinking water, toilets, medical service and security at the place where the Shivaratri festival takes place.     

Lawmaker Dr Toshima Karki shared that the government should inform the House about financial embezzlement at the Nepal Red Cross Society and launch an investigation in this regard. (RSS)
