Kathmandu, Jan 30: Chairman of the National Assembly (NA), Narayan Prasad Dahal, has expressed the belief that Sonam Lhosar would play a role in strengthening social and cultural harmony, brotherhood and national unity among all castes and communities.
In his message of best wishes today
on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar festival of the Tamang community, he said the
festival has played a unique role in preserving and promoting the traditional
culture of the Tamang community.
He stated that known as the
festival of nature worshipers believing in work culture, Sonam Lhosar is
celebrated with joy amidst the partaking of various delicacies as well as
cultural programmes according to their original culture and tradition.
"The federal democratic republican
constitution, which has been achieved through the great sacrifice and
dedication of the Nepali people, has institutionalized national unity and
identity based
on diversity and also accepted unity amidst multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural characteristics and geographical diversity," the Chairman of the upper house of the Federal Parliament said and expressed the confidence that the Tamang community would play further key role in the protection and advancement of the achievements.
NA Chair Dahal opined that such
festivals have contributed to the preservation of various civilizations,
languages, art, culture, scripts, costumes and cultural heritages by respecting
the religious and cultural beliefs of different castes and communities. (RSS)
