By Our Correspondent,Waling, Jan.1: A book titled ‘Aandhikhole Lokgeetka Abhinayak: Chandra Bahadur Sen Masane’ written by litterateur Dev Prasad Banwasi has been unveiled amid a programme in Waling on Monday.
The book was unveiled during a programme held on the occasion of the 85th birthday of senior writer Banwasi.
Speaking at the event organised to mark the sixth anniversary of the literary renaissance campaign Alternative Path, Distinct Steps (Baikalpik Bato, Prithak Paila) in Syangja, the author said that the book highlights the overlooked talents of singer Masane.
The book delves into the legacy of Chandra Bahadur Sen (Masane), including his rise to fame before 2007 BS, his victory in a folk duet competition for which he was rewarded Rs. 500 by Bhure Raja Gupta Bahadur Khan. He also received gold medals in 2015 BS and 2018 BS for singing Aandhikhole folk songs from King Mahendra.
The publication showcases Masane’s historical achievements and contributions through various essays.
The book was reviewed by Basanta Khanal, while Laxmi Prasad Regmi provided an overview of Devi Prasad Banwasi’s life, personality and works.
