Lamichhane’s detention extended by five days

By Phadindra Adhikari,Lekthnath, Dec. 13: The Kaski District Court has granted permission to extend the detention of Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), for five days.

Lamichhane has been in the custody of the Kaski District Police Office since October 18, in connection with his alleged involvement in embezzling the fund of the Pokhara-based Surya Darshan Cooperative.

On Thursday, he was presented before the court for the seventh time.

The bench, led by District Judge Chandrakant Paudel, approved the five-day detention extension.

Along with Lamichhane, the remand period has also been extended for five days for Chhabilal Joshi, the former vice-chairman of Gorkha Media, Leela Pachaai, Ram Bahadur Khanal and Krishna Bahadur Gurung.
