Kathmandu, Dec 4: Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said a new revolution was necessary for good governance and social justice in the country.
Addressing the programme 'Republic Soldiers Honour' organized by Republic Soldiers' Trust here on Wednesday, he stressed that a campaign against corruption as well as for social justice and economic prosperity would be launched.
Announcing that party's main agenda of directly elected executive President would be taken ahead, Chairperson Prachanda mentioned that the CPN (Maoist Centre) would continuously work to establish republic as the system of the people.
The party would move ahead on its own agenda and identity uniting the divided Maoist for the new revolution, he added, clarifying that it has started by winning the local level by-election alone.
Similarly, former Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun stated that republic was established from a long struggle and sacrifice, adding there was no alternative to move ahead safeguarding the achievement of republic.
Likewise, Maoist leaders-- Janardan Sharma, and Chakrapani Khanal stressed that the form of next struggle should be focused for god governance and against corruption, pointing out the need of reconstituting the party.
Meanwhile, the Trust honoured leaders including Chair Prachanda for their leadership role to establish republic in the country.
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair and former PM Prachanda, former Vice-President Pun, leaders—Barshaman Pun, Janardan Sharma and Chakrapani Khanal were honoured amidst a programme today.
On the occasion, Chair Prachanda also honoured various individuals—Gopal Pandey, Surendra Bhujel, Bhakta Bahadur Thapa, Basu Lamichhane, Lalit Shrestha, Sushila Thapa, Mina Waiba Pakhrin, among others with 'Republic Solider Honour' for their contribution in establishing republic. (RSS)
