By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov. 21: The
National Dalit Journalists Association has demanded actions against those involved
in the murder of journalist Suresh Bhul.
Making public the report of on-site study of the
murder case, the Association claimed that the crime has been intentionally
planned.
The Association demanded that the government
should carry out a through probe into the case and punish the culprits while
also provide relief to the victim family including judicial compensation.
Journalist Bhul, a resident of Gauriganga
Municipality-11 in Kailali, was beaten by locals on charge of stealing a
goat and he died while under treatment on November 9.
"Bhul had kept the goat by tying it in
front of his shop after the goat came there. However, the locals accused him of
stealing and fined a sum of Rs. 30 thousand. He paid the fine. But even then he
was beaten to death. This shows the event is well planned," said Binod
Padahi, former Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Association.
The police has arrested seven of the eight
accused in the crime after the victim family registered the complaint.
