Merigold farming in Kapilvastu

By Janu Pandey, Kapilvastu, Nov 1: Narayan Aryal of Banganga Municipality-3, has shifted for commercial merigold farming from paddy farming since last three years.   

His merigold farming is expanded in 5 kattha land. At this festival season, flowers are being used for making garland. 

Aryal major targets of the merigold farming are Tihar and marriage. 

 Aryal said “ The motivation to enter in flower business came after reading the news that flower is being importedfrom India”.  

He planted 3000 sapling of merigold with costed Rs 12 per sapling.

 Aryal informed that 3000 garland being supplied in market in a week. Its demand has been rising due to insufficient supply. 

The merigold garland is being sold at Rs 150 to Rs 200.
