Tharus dispose of Pittar at Rapti River

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, oct 11: Women of the Tharu community have disposed the remains (Pittar) of the puja of the ancestor.

Tharus have the tradition of worshiping ancestors on the ninth day of Dashain since ancient times.

In the pictures, Tharu women of Khururiya village in Rapti Rural Municipality- 3 of Dang are taking the pittar, the sacred remaining of the puja, to dispose of at the Rapti river. (translated from RSS Nepali news)
