By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 21: There were 18 goals scored on the first match day of Round 7 as the two departmental clubs – APF Club and Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) – subjugated Koshi Province and Chandrapur Municipality on Friday.

TAC’s 10-0 victory against Chandrapur was the second-highest number of goals scored in the ongoing ANFA Women’s League 2080; it was also Army which scored the highest number of goals: 14-1 against Sudurpashchim on September 10.

Similarly, defending champion APF scored 8 goals past Koshi while keeping a clean sheet. It was the fourth-highest number of goals scored in a match this season; the third was the 9-0 win by Nepal Police against Sudurpashchim on September 7.

Rashmi Kumari Ghising of APF was the highest scorer of the day with five goals. Ghising opened her account in the 56th minute; until then, Anita KC’s goal in the fifth minute and Anita Basnet’s goal in the 19th had made the score 2-0.

It was Anita Basnet who made it 4-0 in the 80th minute and paved the road for Rashmi to score four more in the span of eight minutes. Rashmi scored in the 81st, 85th, 87th and 88th minutes to make it 8-0.

On the other hand, there were two separate hat-tricks in the match between Army and Chandrapur. Chandra Bhandari opened the goal tally for the Army in the very first minute showing that goals were about to be showered in the ANFA Complex once again.

Chandra completed her hat-trick after scoring two more in the 40th and 84th minutes. The other hat-tricker was Amisha Karki who scored in the 27th, 42nd and 68th minutes.

The other goal scorers for Army in the massive win were Hima Chaudhary (32'), Dipa Shahi from a penalty in the 52nd minute, Anjana Rana Magar (67') and Sharmila Thapa Magar (85').

Koshi had started the League in the best manner. It was the only team with three wins in the first three matches. However, of the last four matches, Koshi lost three and drew in one.

Chandrapur, on the other hand, has only one win, four draws and two losses. Koshi vs Chandrapur will be a major testament for the eastern province as they should win the match to make sure they reach the second phase of the League as the Top 5 teams.
