By Our Correspondent,Tamghas, Sept.14: Regular flights from Resunga Airport in Gulmi have resumed after almost two months. The flights that have been suspended since June 28 due to poor weather conditions resumed on Friday.

According to Suman Thapa, the Station Chief of Resunga Airport, Nepal Airlines resumed its flight from Kathmandu to Gulmi carrying 13 passengers, likewise, 15 passengers boarded from Gulmi to Kathmandu, on Friday.

"There were no passengers to board from Gulmi on August 24, probably it was because the passengers were uncertain about the resumption of flight," said Thapa. If the weather conditions become favourable, the flights will be regularised every Friday, he added.

Nepal Airlines which used to have a single flight on Friday was granted permission to fly three times a week after the surge in the number of passengers. However, with the onset of monsoon, the flights were scheduled only on Friday.

'The flight from Kathmandu to Gulmi is scheduled at 6:30 am and from Gulmi to Kathmandu at 7:45 am.  Likewise, the fare is set at Rs. 7,300 from Kathmandu to Gulmi and Rs. 7,500 from Gulmi to Kathmandu," said Thapa. Commercial flights began in Resunga on May 11, 2024. Resunga Airport is located in Simchaur, Ward No 10 of the Resunga Municipality.
