Sigdel appointed Chief of nepali Army

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 29: Acting Chief of the Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel has been appointed as the Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) of the Nepali Army. 

According to the Office of the President, Acting Army Chief Sigdel has been appointed as the CoAS in accordance with Article 267 (5) of the Constitution. 

In a statement issued by the Office of the President on Wednesday, it is mentioned that Sigdel’s appointment as the new army chief will come into effect from September 9.

President Ramchandra Paudel, on the recommendation of the Cabinet, appointed Sigdel, who is currently serving as the Acting CoAS of the Nepali Army, as the CoAS.
