LP Joshi passes away at 88

By Lila Raj Khadka, Birtamod,  July 26: The former famous folk singer Laxmi Prasad Joshi (LP) Joshi at the age of 88 passed away at 8:30 on Thursday. He died in the course of treatment at the Lifeline Hospital in Damak. 

Joshi, a resident of Damak-1, has sung popular folk songs like, 'Riting Reiting Nabajau Binayo, Allo Kholo Pallo Kholo' which he sang 66 years ago. The song has become timeless now. 

He was a popular singer and performer of Eastern folk songs in the Nepali folk song field. 

He was very active in stage shows and programs even in the latter parts of his life. 

The last rites will be performed at Kankai Mai on Friday morning. Joshi was suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure for a long time.
