By Jaya Krishna Yadav, Inaruwa, July 17: 78 per cent of the paddy plantation has been completed in the arable land of Sunsari district.

The plantation started soon after the onset of monsoon and the remaining part also was planted in time putting the plantation ratio at 78 per cent.

Last year, the planation rate stood at 52 per cent till July 15.

According to the report by the Agriculture Knowledge Center of the Ministry of Industry, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Madhesh Province, 78 per cent of the plantation has been completed till July 17.

Chief of the Agriculture Knowledge Center, Sunsar, Nil Kamal Singh, the paddy plantation has been satisfactory because of the timely onset of the monsoon season.

The rest of the plantation is running smoothly as well. The reason for less paddy plantation is credited to a late monsoon. This year, the timely monsoon has eased farmers for plantation.

It is predicted that seven per cent more plantations will be completed by this month.
