Godawari (Kailali), June 29: The Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded the formation of a high-level investigation committee on the leakage of Red Book prepared for the upcoming fiscal year in the Sudurpaschim Province.

The Red Book contains confidential information of the government including the estimated annual income and expenditure as well all annual policies and programmes' priorities.

The NC's parliamentary party meeting convened on Friday blamed the provincial government for its gross negligence on keeping secret the digital copy of the Red Book before it was provided to the Province Assembly members and the government's website.

In a press statement, the parliamentary party's Chief Whip Bikram Singh Dhami mentioned that the Red Book was released by an authorized person, showing sheer recklessness of the provincial government. The NC demanded a high-level probe committee to find truth behind the incident.

Also, the party said that the government should not remain tacit when such a sensitive and confidential document is made public illegitimately.

Demanding government's official statement on it, the party also alerted that the government should take responsibility of the potential situation that could unfold if the probe committee is not formed.(RSS)
