Bimal Gurung Memorial Library calls for literary works

Dharan, June 20: Poet Bimal Gurung Memorial Library, established in honour of poet Bimal Gurung, has announced a call for submissions for the ‘Kavi Bimal Gurung Kriti Puraskar’. 

 This award seeks to recognise and promote Nepali literature by honouring writers and poets both within Nepal and abroad.

Purna Bahadur Gurung, the chairman of the library, said that the award includes a cash prize of Rs. 200,000.

 Writers and poets who wish to participate should submit four copies of their literary works, published in the Nepali language between April 14, 2023, and April 12, 2024. The deadline for submissions is October 1.

In celebration of the 53rd birth anniversary of poet Bimal Gurung and the 33rd National Poetry Festival, poets from around the world are invited to submit poems written in the Nepali language via email within the deadline by the mid of November .

 The submissions should be in a word file, written in either Unicode or Preeti font, and must include the poet’s name, address and contact number.

The organisers have said that the winners of the first, second, and third prizes in the ‘Kavi Bimal Gurung Kriti Puraskar’ will be honoured at the 33rd National Poetry Festival on November 9, which marks the 53rd birth anniversary of poet Bimal Gurung.
