Bardibas begins building business complex, fun park

By Our Correspondent,Bardibas, Apr. 5: The two big projects prepared by Bardibas Municipality for the overall development of the municipality have entered the construction phase.

The municipality has prepared for the construction of Bardibas Business Complex in Ward No. 3 Gauridanda and Ramjanaki Fun Park in an area of 40 bighas on the coast of Ratu located in Ward No 14. The initial cost of both these ambitious projects is estimated at Rs. 810 million.

Mayor of Bardibas Municipality Prahlad Chhetri said that the business complex and the fun park have been conceptualised together with the aim of enhancing the identity of Bardibas, promoting domestic tourism and helping in the institutional development of business.

According to the municipality, the detailed project report (DPR) of both ambitious projects, which have been the subject of interest and discussion for a long time, have also been prepared and have entered the implementation phase.

According to the design prepared by Green Tech Consultants Pvt. Ltd. in three months, the total area of Bardibas Business Complex has been determined to be 5.5 katthas of land.

Out of this, two kattha 11 dhur (871.34 square meter) area will be taken to construct a 6-storey attractive building with arrangements have been made to operate 102 shops for commercial purposes. The commercial building will have two lifts and underground parking in the basement. More than 150 cars and motorcycles can be kept in the parking lot.

Engineer of the Green Tech Consultants Ashram Shrestha said that in the business complex, which is estimated to cost Rs. 390 million, human facilities, including lighting, security and toilets have also been taken into consideration.

Similarly, the Ramjanaki Fun Park, which will be built on an area of 40 Bigaha on the bank of Ratu, is considered to be the pride project of Madhes Province.

The famous Janaki Temple of Janakpur has been symbolically designed in the park. To show the importance of this, the name of the park is 'Ramjanaki'. Apart from this, a water fun park, botanical park, children's entertainment, cultural museum, restaurants, have been arranged in the park.

Shrestha said that Ramjanaki Fun Park, which is estimated to cost Rs. 420 million, can be visited by 50,000 people at a time. According to him, both structures are designed to be completed within five years. 

In a programme organised by Green Tech Consultants at the Municipal Office on Wednesday, animation videos of both structures were released and detailed project-wise information was presented.

Mayor Chhetri said that the federal government had released a budget of Rs. 14 million in the current fiscal for the business complex under the multi-year project. Similarly, the municipality has issued a public notice and acquired 40 bighas of land for the construction of Ramjanaki Fun Park.

He said that since the DPR has also been prepared, preparations are being made to proceed with the process for managing the budget. Chief Minister of Madhes Province Saroj Yadav has shown interest in the fun park and has expressed his commitment to construct the project.
