By Our Correspondent,Hetauda, Dec. 26: A two-day Kalika fair has begun at Namtar of Makwanpur district since Monday. The fair that has begun on the Kalika temple premises in Namtar of Kailash Rural Municipality Ward No. 9 will conclude on the day of the full moon day on Tuesday at the Kalika temple by sacrificing a he-goat.
In 1993, the temple was swept away by a flood in the Namtar market area. The stone in the place was considered as Syarse Kalika Devi and is worshipped by people.
Bhuwan Singh Ghalan, ward chairman of Ward No. 9 of Kailash Rural Municipality, said that the temple is being constructed with the help of the Bagmati Province Government, rural municipality, ward office and the devotees.
He said that only works to give an attractive look to the temple and build a compound wall are left. At the place from where the temple was swept away by the flood of 1993, idols of Kalika and Ganesha were carved on a large stone and consecrated in November with the help of doors.
According to him, devotees come to worship Kalika Devi with the belief that their wishes will be fulfilled. He said that those who have vowed to come to the temple on Dhanya Purnima visit it on that day and those who have not made such a vow visit the temple on Chandi Purnima.
